RIVERBOAT DAYS 2016: Friday, July 29 to Sunday, August 7

May 29 Update: Registration information for the Riverboat Days Soccer Tournament is available now. Click here to open the Event Poster.

Starting the August long weekend, Riverboat Days is the largest community festival in northwest British Columbia, highlighting the culture and heritage of the area. The longstanding crowd-gatherers of the Legion Parade, the Fireworks over Ferry Island , Beach Blast Volleyball, and Concerts in the Park never fail to please. Concerts features the best music from around the northwest, held outdoors in the centrepiece of Riverboat Days, George Little Park. What a treat for the 2015 Saturday evening headliner: Kenny Shields & Streetheart--Juno award winners and a string of gold and platinum records! And this year's Fireworks was better than ever thanks to additional corporate sponsorship.

The 2015 program was the largest ever, with more than 60 events offered over 10 days. Highlights included another jaw-dropping Freestyle Motocross Madness as fans witnessed amazing aerial acrobatics on motorcycles outside the Skeena Mall, top ranked talent in Elite Black Belts Taekwondo and high energy, inspiring theatre for kids brought to us by Victoria’s Story Theatre. The arts were everywhere with talks, exhibitions and workshops through integration within Riverboat Days of the Terrace & District Arts Council Summer Arts Festival. And in just its second year the Street Fair Medley has become a favoured place to be on the second weekend of Riverboat Days

Riverboat Days is an entire week to share the history, the culture and simply the unequalled natural setting around Terrace. So for 2016 encourage that child to join a crafts workshop at Heritage Park, sample delicious fare in the "Tastes of Terrace" tour, enter a team in the Riverboat Day's Soccer Tournament or join a walking tour of the downtown and learn some surprising stories about the area's history. From quiet and reflective art exhibits to loud and fast auto racing, that's Riverboat Days.

The 2015 schedule can still be viewed or download by clicking the button on the right. The 2015 Concerts in the Park line-up can be accessed by selecting the "Concerts in the Park" poster at the bottom of this page. Registration Forms for 2016 Riverboat Days Events, for George Little Park Vendors and to enter the Legion Riverboat Days Parade are found under "Riverboat Days 2016" in the menu in the left column. This year's Parade theme is "All Aboard for an Adventure!" Also under "Riverboat Days 2016" are other resources to help you plan your days, including a 2015 events' location map, daily event list and event list classified by target audience and themes. 2016 editions will be created around mid-July.
